30 minutes fire rated glass (integrity only) doors/windows/partitions(E30)
When glass is classified as "30-minute integrity" (often designated as E30 glass), it means it has been rigorously tested and certified to maintain its integrity for a minimum of 30 minutes when exposed to fire. During this period, the glass acts as a robust barrier, preventing the spread of:
- ✓ Flames: It won't allow flames to pass through to the unexposed side.
- ✓ Smoke: It effectively blocks the movement of harmful smoke and combustion byproducts.
- ✓ Hot Gases: It contains the spread of superheated gases, which can quickly ignite other materials.
"Integrity" glass focuses on preventing the spread of fire itself. While it provides a barrier, it does not significantly limit the transfer of radiant heat through the glass. For applications requiring heat insulation, an "Integrity and Insulation" (EI) rating would be necessary.
