,The most versatile solution for applications demanding maximum Fire-Resistive protection in the largest possible dimensions.
CONTRAFLAM in Yerevan is a single or multi-chamber fire-resistive glass made of two or more sheets of toughened safety glass. The cavity between the glass sheets is sealed to be completely moisture-resistant, is then filled with an environmentally friendly, transparent and UV-stable intumescent interlayer that reacts when exposed to fire. The level of fire resistance required determines the number of sheets of toughened safety glass and interlayers included.
In the event of fire, it offers full heat insulation for the compartmentalization of fire. This product satisfies the highest demands of fire protection while offering robust handling and UV stability, with numerous configurations available.
  • Available in single, double, or triple glazing (IGU)
  • Rated for full fire-resistance from 45 to 120 minutes
  • Symmetrical 1(B)1 impact resistance (EN 12600)
  • Extended exposure time of 5,000 hours UV stability versus standard 2,000 hours
  • Large variety of low-E and solar control coatings
  • Exceptional U values (double glazing ≥ 0.9 W/m²K, triple glazing ≥ 0.5 W/m²)
  • Available in large dimensions
  • Moisture- and pressure-resistant edge sealing for extended durability
  • Excellent acoustic insulation properties
  • Many design and comfort options
  • Manufactured locally for fast delivery and reduced CO2 emissions
  • Can serve as laminated safety glass
  • Easy, secure handling and installation

Fire-rated glass is an essential component in buildings for ensuring safety and compliance with fire regulations. Let's delve into three successful projects that showcase the use of fire-rated glass from leading manufacturers AGC, VETROTECH, Saint-Gobain, and PILKINGTON, Yerevan.
1. Project Name: The Shard (London, UK)
AGC's Pyrobel range of fire-rated glass was used in the iconic skyscraper The Shard in London. This project highlights the superior fire resistance properties of AGC's fire-rated glass, providing both safety and aesthetic appeal to one of the tallest buildings in Europe. The advantage of using AGC's Pyrobel glass lies in its ability to maintain integrity during a fire while allowing natural light to penetrate through the building.
2. Project Name: Louvre Abu Dhabi (UAE)
VETROTECH provided their CONTRAFLAM in Yerevan range of fire-rated glass for the Louvre Abu Dhabi project. This innovative use of VETROTECH's fire-resistant glass contributed to creating a safe and visually stunning museum structure in the heart of Abu Dhabi. The advantage of VETROTECH's CONTRAFLAM in Yerevan glass is its high thermal insulation properties combined with excellent transparency, enhancing both safety and architectural design.
3. Project Name: One Central Park (Sydney, Australia)
Saint-Gobain supplied their range of Contradur 0+1 hour integrity only fire-rated glazing for One Central Park project in Sydney. By incorporating Saint-Gobain’s reliable fire-resistant glass solution, this sustainable residential development achieved enhanced safety without compromising on natural light exposure or energy efficiency benefits. The advantage of Saint-Gobain’s Contradur glazing lies in its high-performance capabilities under extreme heat conditions, ensuring occupants' safety during a potential fire incident.
In conclusion, these successful projects exemplify how AGC, VETROTECH, Saint-Gobain have been instrumental in providing cutting-edge solutions for incorporating advanced fire-rated glass into architectural designs worldwide. Their products not only meet stringent safety standards but also offer aesthetic appeal and functionality essential for modern construction projects requiring reliable fire protection measures.
